Dr. Alberto Lopez

President

Dr. Lopez is a compassionate veterinarian with over 25 years of hands-on experience in advanced animal care. After earning his degree from the University of Camagüey, Cuba, in 1995, he began practicing locally before continuing his career in Madrid, Spain.

Driven by a lifelong dream of building his own practice, Dr. Lopez eventually moved to the United States to pursue that vision. In 2011, he founded Concierge Veterinary Hospital of Naples, a state-of-the-art facility offering personalized veterinary services to families across Southwest Florida.

As both founder and medical director, Dr. Lopez is deeply committed to the health and well-being of every pet entrusted to his care. Licensed in Florida, Dr. Lopez blends international training with over two decades of clinical experience.

He specializes in emergency care, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, and advanced procedures, ensuring that pets receive the highest standard of care at every stage. Dr. Lopez is widely trusted by families throughout Southwest Florida.

His reputation is built on compassionate house calls, personalized treatment plans, and a commitment to excellence tailored to each pet’s unique needs. Beyond his clinical expertise, Dr. Lopez is active in the local community—supporting veterans, collaborating with schools and charities, and providing bilingual care to meet the diverse needs of pet owners.

Vice President

Dr. Randy Dominguez earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas in Villa Clara, Cuba, in 1997. After completing the required licensing examinations, he became licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the United States in 2007.

He subsequently practiced for four years at Palmetto Animal Clinic before founding Animal Care and Surgical Hospital on February 14, 2011.

Since 2008, orthopedic, spinal, soft-tissue, and minimally invasive surgery have been Dr. Dominguez’s passion and the primary focus of his professional career. He has completed more than 2,000 hours of advanced continuing education in orthopedic, soft-tissue, spinal, arthroscopic, laparoscopic, and endoscopic procedures.

His ongoing pursuit of surgical excellence has also included numerous externships and individualized training experiences alongside highly respected surgeons from around the world.

Dr. Dominguez is among a relatively small number of veterinarians in South Florida who routinely perform minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery. He also performs advanced laparoscopic procedures and is among the limited number of veterinarians in Florida trained to perform total hip replacement.

His advanced surgical capabilities allow him to offer selected patients sophisticated treatment options designed to minimize surgical trauma, restore mobility, and improve quality of life.

Throughout his career, Dr. Dominguez has performed thousands of surgical and endoscopic procedures, including many referral cases from veterinary colleagues. Through his mobile surgical practice, he provides orthopedic, soft-tissue, and spinal surgery to veterinary hospitals throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.

In 2024, Dr. Dominguez and his wife, Sulayne Dominguez, purchased Westchester Animal Hospital. Together, they proudly continue serving the community while expanding the hospital’s surgical capabilities and maintaining a strong commitment to compassionate patient care and surgical excellence.

Outside veterinary medicine, Dr. Dominguez enjoys horseback riding, working out, studying, and spending time with his wife, their three children, extended family, five dogs, and three cats.

Dr. Beatriz Hernández is a graduate of the Fructuoso Rodríguez Pérez Agrarian University of Havana, located in San José de las Lajas, Mayabeque Province, Cuba. She previously graduated with honors from the Villena-Revolución Veterinary Polytechnic Institute in Boyeros, Havana Province, Cuba.

Her professional career in Cuba included working with the State Control Laboratory of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine (LCE-IMV) and the Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment, and Medical Devices (CECMED).

After settling in the United States, she continued her work as a representative for Latin America for Immuno American Corp and Lab Research do Brazil, establishing herself as a trusted strategic partner within the scientific community. In this role, she facilitated researchers’ access to cutting-edge technologies and internationally renowned brands recognized for their quality, innovation, and reliability.

Her work focused on supporting Latin American researchers at every stage of their projects, helping them identify the most suitable solutions through specialized technical and scientific advice, training programs, and ongoing support—from initial planning to the completion of the research.

This enabled scientists to focus their efforts on what mattered most: advancing science and achieving robust, reproducible, and high-impact results.

At the same time, she also worked as a Veterinary Technician at Miami Springs Animal Hospital, where she developed extensive experience in the handling and care of domestic animals. She is known as a professional capable of building trusting relationships with clients and fostering positive connections.

She currently serves as a Veterinary Technician Manager at St. Francis Veterinary Clinic in South Florida.

She possesses extensive knowledge of clinical and laboratory procedures, including performing and interpreting basic radiographs, venipuncture, collecting and processing biological samples, urinalysis and fecal analysis, antigen testing, and skin and ear cytology. She actively collaborates in comprehensive patient care, ensuring high standards of animal welfare, service quality, and administration.

El Dr. Maykel Povea Mora es cirujano veterinario de pequeños animales, investigador, docente y fundador institucional, con una trayectoria de nivel referencial reconocida internacionalmente en cirugía avanzada de tejidos blandos, mínimamente invasiva, torácica y cardiovascular. Reconocido por el Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) como Advanced Practitioner en Cirugía de Pequeños Animales y distinguido con la Fellowship del Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (FRCVS) por sus contribuciones meritorias a la profesión, su labor integra la práctica clínica avanzada, la innovación quirúrgica, la investigación traslacional, la educación de posgrado y el liderazgo académico.

Su formación académica se inició a través de un exigente programa combinado de Medicina Humana y Medicina Veterinaria (MD y DVM), reservado a estudiantes de rendimiento excepcional, del que egresó summa cum laude — una doble base científica que sustenta su enfoque traslacional de la cirugía. Adquirió experiencia en investigación biomédica en el Centro de Ingeniería Genética y Biotecnología (CIGB) y en el Centro Nacional de Sanidad Agropecuaria (CENSA), Cuba, y culminó una Maestría en Bioquímica, Manipulación Genética y Biología Celular Molecular en la Universidad de Sussex, Reino Unido, gracias a la prestigiosa Beca Chevening otorgada por la Oficina de Asuntos Exteriores, de la Commonwealth y de Desarrollo del Reino Unido (FCDO). Su desarrollo profesional incluye además formación ejecutiva en Global Business en Harvard Business School.

Su formación especializada en cirugía mínimamente invasiva comprende un Diploma en Cirugía Mínimamente Invasiva y Laparoscópica por la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Piura; formación veterinaria básica y avanzada en cirugía mínimamente invasiva (MIS) en Colorado State University; entrenamiento avanzado en el IRCAD de Estrasburgo y en el Centro de Cirugía de Mínima Invasión Jesús Usón de Cáceres; y una Fellowship en Cirugía Humana Mínimamente Invasiva de la World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons (WALS) en el CAMLS de la University of South Florida — todo ello integrado en la práctica quirúrgica veterinaria de nivel referencial.

Actualmente se desempeña como Jefe de Cirugía en CEQVEMI – Centro de Cirugía Convencional y Mínimamente Invasiva; Fundador y CEO de ISVS Global (International School of Veterinary Surgery), plataforma internacional de educación quirúrgica de posgrado, mentoría, itinerarios de certificación y colaboración académica; y Presidente de la Sociedad Internacional de Cirugía Cardiovascular y Torácica Veterinaria (SICCVT). Su trabajo ha sido presentado internacionalmente a través de la Veterinary Endoscopy Society (VES) y publicado en Veterinary Surgery y otras plataformas académicas, con especial énfasis en cirugía mínimamente invasiva, toracoscopia, sistemas de anudado extracorpóreo, técnicas quirúrgicas traslacionales y atención quirúrgica avanzada de nivel referencial.

Dra. Dagnelys García graduated from the “Fructuoso Rodríguez Pérez” Agrarian University of Havana, located in San José de las Lajas, Mayabeque Province, Cuba. Shortly thereafter, she earned a Master of Science degree in Biosafety from the Higher Institute of Technologies and Applied Sciences in Havana, Cuba.

Her professional career in Cuba included working as a quality management specialist at the State Control Laboratory of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine (LCE-IMV).

After leaving Cuba, she settled in Ecuador, where she practiced veterinary medicine and owned the San Luis Veterinary Clinic in Sangolquí, Quito. There, she distinguished herself through her dedication to animal welfare and excellent service to the community.

Upon relocating to the United States, she continued her work at Cutler Bay Animal Clinic, where she further expanded her extensive experience in the handling and care of domestic animals.

She currently works as a veterinary technician in South Florida.

She possesses extensive knowledge of clinical and laboratory procedures, including performing and interpreting basic radiographs, venipuncture, collecting and processing biological samples, urinalysis and fecal analysis, antigen testing, and skin and ear cytology. Dr. Liusbel Ramos Miranda, MVZ, is a graduate of the Agrarian University of Havana (UNAH), Cuba.

Professional Profile

Dr. Ramos has more than 12 years of experience in small animal medicine and surgery. He has an extensive background in soft tissue surgery, traumatology, orthopedics, and the clinical management of canine and feline patients.

His experience includes serving as the owner and director of a veterinary clinic, as well as coordinating and instructing international veterinary surgery courses. He has practiced professionally in Cuba, Mexico, and the United States and is committed to evidence-based medicine, continuous learning, and excellence in patient care.

Dr. Maritza Piedra Fuentes is a graduate of the Agrarian University of Havana, Cuba. Her professional career in Cuba focused primarily on veterinary medicine related to animal production, with a special emphasis on pigs and geese.

After settling in the United States and completing the accreditation process, she obtained her license to practice in 2014.

Since then, she has had the privilege of continuing to practice the profession she loves, dedicating herself to small animal medicine—primarily dogs and cats—with the same passion, commitment, and sense of responsibility that have guided her vocation from day one.

She is currently part of the medical team at Miami Pet Clinic, a veterinary practice located in the heart of Little Havana. There, she is passionate about providing excellent medical care and building trusting relationships with the pets and families who place their well-being in the clinic’s hands.

Her greatest satisfaction comes from alleviating patient suffering, helping to save lives, and educating owners so they can provide their pets with long, healthy, and happy lives.
